Nigeria's Aruna Quadri has admitted that world number one, MA Long was to hard for him to handle in last Tuesday's Olympic Games men's table tennis quarter final game in Brazil.
The Nigerian athlete, who turned 28 on the day he crashed out of the games achieved a milestone by becoming the first African table tennis player to reach last eight of the men's singles event.
Long defeated the world number thirty four straight games to progress to the semi finals of the game.
"MA Long is so much better, so much faster, everything is just perfect about MA Long while his speed was just too much for me."
"It was not going very well for me tonight and I had a lot more difficulty receiving his service. He was stronger and faster, everything was just too perfect about him."
Quadri also believes that his new record in the Olympics will spur an African to emerge the champion of the men's table tennis event someday.
"I believe that it is possible for an African to win Olympic medal in table tennis because nothing is impossible to go there, and not just me."
"I strongly believe there are some upcoming players in Africa, including Omar Assar, and some top Nigerian players who could be able to easily match my record with hard work."
The 28-year old was also said he was highly impressed with the Brazilian fans who stood by him all through, most especially on his birthday.
"They were really good singers, I was so happy seeing them singing for me, it's an amazing thing."
