Nigeria has risen to 67th position on the latest FIFA ranking released by the world football governing body on Thursday.
Nigeria are set to play their last African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tanzania so that the new Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr can assess the team ahead of the 2018 world cup qualifiers which kicks off in October.
The three-time African Cup of Nations champions also moved one step up to 15th position on the African continent, as against last month's 16th position on the global ranking.
Argentina maintains their top position on the log, while Belgium, Colombia, Germany and Chile completing the top five in that order, while Algeria, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and Egypt, who are just making their return to the AFCON championship after missing the last three editions make the top five best footballing nations in Africa.
Nigeria will host Tanzania in the first weekend of September.
